This Notice describes privacy practices for embassyofyah.org. The Embassy aims to collect no more information than is reasonably needed to operate the site, respond to correspondence, protect the service, and meet lawful obligations.

1. Scope

This Notice covers the Embassy’s public website and messages sent to the Embassy through the contact links or prepared-email form. It does not govern an external website, email provider, radio service, or Scripture service that you choose to visit.

2. Information that may be collected

Information you choose to send. If you email the Embassy, we receive the address you use and the name, subject, message, attachments, and other information you include. The website’s contact form only prepares a draft in your email application; the website does not receive that draft unless you choose to send it.

Basic technical records. Like most hosted websites, the web host, network, or security service may automatically process connection information such as an IP address, browser or device type, requested page, referring page, date, time, and error or security events. These records help deliver pages, prevent abuse, and diagnose problems.

What the current site does not request. The current website has no account registration, member profile, comment system, online checkout, payment form, or newsletter sign-up. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, medical records, or similarly sensitive information by ordinary email.

3. How information is used

Information may be used to deliver and maintain the website, respond to a message, understand and correct technical problems, protect the site and others from misuse, preserve necessary records, and comply with lawful obligations.

The Embassy does not sell or rent personal information. The current website code does not run behavioral advertising or analytics.

4. When information may be shared

Information may be disclosed only as reasonably necessary:

  • to hosting, email, security, or other service providers supporting the site or correspondence;
  • to respond to valid legal process or fulfill a legal obligation;
  • to protect the rights, safety, integrity, or property of the Embassy, a visitor, or another person;
  • in connection with a responsible transfer or reorganization of the ministry’s operations, subject to applicable law; or
  • with your direction or consent.

Service providers may process information in locations different from your own. Their handling is also governed by their terms and legal obligations.

5. Cookies, browser storage, and external fonts

The current website code does not intentionally set first-party cookies or use local storage, advertising pixels, or analytics tags. A host or security provider may still use essential network-level measures outside the page code.

To render the site’s typography, pages currently request a stylesheet and font files from Google Fonts. When that request is made, Google may receive ordinary technical connection data such as your IP address and browser information. Your browser settings or privacy tools may block those requests, and the site will fall back to standard fonts.

When you follow an outside link—such as BibleGateway or the Embassy radio—the destination may collect information or set cookies under its own privacy practices.

6. Retention and security

Correspondence and technical records are kept only as long as reasonably useful for the purpose received, ministry administration, safety, dispute prevention, or lawful obligations, then deleted, anonymized, or allowed to expire where practical.

Reasonable safeguards are used, but no website, host, email system, or transmission method can be promised completely secure. Use care with what you send and choose another channel before transmitting sensitive information.

7. Children’s privacy

The website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. The Embassy does not knowingly solicit personal information online from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child supplied personal information may contact the Embassy to request review and deletion.

8. Your privacy choices

You may choose not to email the Embassy, limit what you include, block third-party font requests, or leave before following an external link. Depending on where you live and the law that applies, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or information about disclosure.

To make a request, email the address below with the subject “Privacy request.” We may need enough information to identify the relevant correspondence and verify that the request concerns you. A request may be limited where retention or disclosure is required or permitted by law.

9. Changes and contact

This Notice may be updated when site practices, providers, or legal obligations change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version.
